Four Send Email Options

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

When this option is selected, 32bit Email Broadcaster sends all email using your SMTP.

32bit Email Broadcaster will use the specified SMTP server as a relay to send emails. This is normally the way you send regular email to people through your regular email client, such as Outlook or Eudora.

MX (Mail eXchanger)

When this option is selected, 32bit Email Broadcaster will act as its own SMTP server, sending the mail directly to the recipient's host email server, to be delivered.

Reasons for using MX instead of SMTP:
Some SMTP servers will not allow you to send out mass emails. They may have *flood* detection turned on. If so, when they see that you are sending out more emails in a given length of time than they allow, they will cut you off. They may also limit the number of emails you can send simultaneously. MX has no limits.

Here is how it works:
32bit Email Broadcaster uses your DNS (Domain Name System) to get the MX for each email, and sends using this MX IP address instead of your SMTP.

MX and SMTP (try MX, use SMTP if MX fails)

When this option is selected, 32bit Email Broadcaster will first try sending an email with MX. If MX fails, we retry using your SMTP.

32bit Email Broadcaster will act as its own SMTP server, sending the mail directly to the recipient's host email server, to be delivered. If the recipient's host email server rejects email from you for some reason, 32bit Email Broadcaster will attempt to send the email via the backup SMTP server that you have specified.

Silent Mail

Send email straight from your domain server, with the ElectraSoft Silent Mail AddOn, using the 32bit Email Broadcaster interface.

The advantage of sending email straight from your domain server, with the Silent Mail AddOn, instead of from your computer, is that you do not involve your ISP (Internet Service Provider) in the broadcasting of the email.

  • 32bit Email Broadcaster includes many email address search tools to help you maintain a single opt in email address list or multiple profiles of opt in email address lists.
